If you encountered any problems, set debug log use echo 5 > /proc/net/rtl88x2bu/log_level or modprobe 88x2bu rtw_drv_log_level=5, and post your dmesg and network managers logs to https://pastebin.com/ .

Hello everyone.
Well, I don't know what happened because I had to reinstall a root while I repaired the other one and no, the module wasn't there, fortunately, the package was present on my broken root.
I gave myself a false joy.
I don't know how the module, even uninstalled, remained available even after restarts, I had even searched the entire disk and found nothing. I repaired this famous root and the module continues to do its job while the package is uninstalled.
I'm still not going to stay like that at the risk that it disappears suddenly. I reinstall the package.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Ignace.

Hello.
On Manjaro, when updating the kernel, I have the following error:

Install DKMS modules
==> dkms install --no-depmod rtl88x2bu/5.13.1.r153.aea996c -k 5.16.2-1-MANJARO

==> depmod 5.16.2-1-MANJARO”.

To be sure, I uninstalled the rtl88x2bu-dkms-git package.
I did a :

“sudo dkms remove rtl88x2bu/5.8.7.4.37264.20200922 --all”

Then I deleted the molule from /usr/src/
Then I reinstalled the kernel, noticed that dkms no longer keyed the module.
Finally, I restarted.
And my USB WIFI dongle still works.
Thank you.
Ignace.

Sorry, I thought I read that this rtl88x2bu-dkms-git driver was not compatible with the 5.16 kernel. I'm sorry, so I'll try that. Thank you. Ignace.

@ignace72 Hi, I have no issue use it on 5.16 kernel. Have you tried reinstall this package for update?

ignace72 commented on 2022-01-21 19:52 (UTC)

Good evening everyone. There is a new module for the RTL88x2Bu chips which is compatible with kernel 5.16. I tried it on a 5.15 kernel but it didn't work on it. Its major flaws are that it only installs for the kernel currently in use and that it must be reinstalled with each new version of the kernel. The core is on GitHub and can be found here: https://github.com/morrownr/88x2bu-20210702. Ignace.

@karmanyaahm Because there are other headers for user to choice, so linux-headers is not a hard build dependency.

karmanyaahm commented on 2021-12-10 15:36 (UTC)

linux-headers is a build dependency but isn't part of the PKGBUILD.

using yay -S I got the same error: Your local changes to the following files would be overwritten by merge: PKGBUILD...

I solved it give it the correct option to clean build when yay ask me:
