as you can see in the description, this software is not free. Without a license, you can only run the demo mode, in which you cannot recover files larger than 1024 KB

thanks for the super quick answers! so, sudo /usr/bin/restudio-tech did work, i asked because other programs that do require sudo never gave me that problem (stuff like input remappers, gnome disks and etc) i gotta go run some kind of healthcheck in my polkit. For the final comment, this is supposed to be a demo of the program or is there a key somewhere else?

rstudio technician must be run as root user (directly or via sudo).

If you see a pop-up window saying "Authentication required..." or something similar after launching rstudio technician, try entering your user password (not the root password). If you don't see this pop-up window, run the following command in terminal:

sudo /usr/bin/rstudio-tech

and enter your user password. If you see the same error, try this:

sudo -H /usr/bin/rstudio-tech

If this doesn't solve your problem and sudo is configured correctly, you probably have some wrong settings or other problems in polkit

@Corvettezr113 Problem solved. They changed the eula file, updated the file checksum and now it should be ok.

Hey, just a heads up, the install is failing at the eula level for some reason
