Well, this package is utterly deprecated, and the project does no longer seem to be maintained. I see I've added a patch for ruby 1.9, but that was five years ago.
There's a different project here: http://robinst.github.io/taglib-ruby/
Not sure if that's even compatible, but you might give it a try.
I'll unflag this, because as far as the original project is concerned, it's up-to-date. Note that flagging out of date is not meant to report build errors.
I'll also orphan this, because I don't use it myself anymore, and it's not required by any package.

Adopted and applied the patch from http://rubyforge.org/frs/?group_id=5494 to the original upstream sources.

This ruby-taglib is totally deprecated, the link is broken, and it doesn't work anymore.
