Not exactly. ruby-test-unit-rr has ruby-rr as runtime dependency while ruby-rr has ruby-test-unit-rr as compile time dependency. So the easiest way is to install bootstrapping package (ruby-rr-bootstrap) first and then build ruby-test-unit-rr from source. Then you will be able to install ruby-rr from source as well

If both package are mutually depend, wouldn't it be good if ruby-rr would be build both package ruby-rr and ruby-test-unit-rr to get rid of this circular dep ?

@mokkurkalve, you could use ruby-rr-bootstrap and ruby-test-unit-rr-bootstrap packages to initiate installation

mokkurkalve commented on 2020-01-30 20:34

OK? So what do you do to install this stuff then?

So may be it needs to provide some kind of bootstrapping package? Otherwise it's impossible to install both packages from source

Sadly the circular cannot be avoided. ruby-test-unit-rr requires ruby-rr as runtime dependency. ruby-rr requires ruby-test-unit-rr for tests.

Circular dependency on ruby-rr
