sudoforge - I also experienced this issue after updating yesterday. I switched to linux-lts which resolves the issue for now.

Performance has completely and utterly tanked for me after a recent system update. Running around invokes heavy CPU spikes and stalls the game client.
Is anyone else experiencing this?

on manjaro installed without a problem. when i run it i get
There was an error loading the game configuration from the website. If you have a firewall, check that this program is allowed to access the Internet. (7,28)
my firewall is off. what could be the problem?

The GUI label is intentionally 2.2.4, this is related to it being a Linux-only launcher update, sorry if this causes any confusion

Note: It is important to keep PGP signature verification enabled, because this PKGBUILD does not verify sha256sums due to Jagex frequently releasing rebuilds with the same version number.
Don't forget to import the Jagex PGP key if installing for the first time:
