Thanks @grawity that works perfectly.

That's because it is literally missing from the upstream .deb
(which is frequently rebuilt without changing the version number, and it seems there's something wrong in their build process). Jagex is aware of the issue.
For the time being, download these older versions into your PKGBUILD directory before running makepkg:

Same problem as @Stif. I've checked packages if runescape executable has been misplaced but it's totally missing.

Hi
Today I installed the package and can't open it when I launch it.
/usr/bin/runescape-launcher: line 18: /usr/share/games/runescape-launcher/runescape: No such file or directory

Is there still a way to adjust audio latency? I have pulseaudio configured with timer scheduling off and running through the JACK sink and I have problems about every other time I start up the game.

In previous versions, certain GPUs used to require export MESA_GL_VERSION_OVERRIDE=3.0
before running the launcher. That shouldn't be needed anymore but is worth a try. (You can add this directly to the launcher-launcher script in /usr/bin.)
If that doesn't help... what GPU do you have and what's the output of glxinfo -B | grep version
?

I download this client and then run it, it opens and plays the music and even changes the mouse to the rs3 theme mouse cursor. however, the screen is black when it opens. Did I do something wrong? people on reddit and the runescape forums say it may be a display or gpu issue but other than that they have been ZERO help and take days to respond
grawity commented on 2019-12-05 05:39 (UTC)
@waan Well, in any case it is not an issue caused by any particular setting in the PKGBUILD. If even plain gnupg doesn't work, switch to a different keyserver. hkps://keyserver.ubuntu.com
has less problems than others

when importing the key listed on this AUR page, manually, or with yay, gpg will always return: gpg: keyserver receive failed: Server indicated a failure. Not sure if the problem is on my side, or if more people have the same issue.

The GUI label is intentionally 2.2.4, this is related to it being a Linux-only launcher update, sorry if this causes any confusion

Note: It is important to keep PGP signature verification enabled, because this PKGBUILD does not verify sha256sums due to Jagex frequently releasing rebuilds with the same version number.
Don't forget to import the Jagex PGP key if installing for the first time:
