CVS checkout works again.

Yeah, CVS is kind of a pain to deal with. The worst thing for me, however, is that network traffic is not encrypted. So fingers crossed that nobody is MITM'ing you.

Actually, CVS does seem to support stream encryption, but only with GSSAPI -- so apparently when using Kerberos? --, but I doubt that upstream supports that. And even if it did, the Arch build of CVS doesn't support stream encryption anyway.

I really don't get why people don't just move to at least SVN.

Rant end.

@Tblue ah thanks, good point. I assumed it included some CVS metadata in there, but there is nothing except src/version.h which doesn't really help us. Man every time I deal with cvs I think to myself "I sure hope this is the last time for real now"...

Thanks for the report!

Unfortunately, one issue with using the magic tarball is that pkgver() wouldn't work anymore as-is (and I don't see any revision information recorded in the tarball).

I have written to the upstream author. In the meantime, I'd suggest making the tarball change you mentioned locally.

I'm having problems checking out the cvs repo; "cvs [checkout aborted]: cannot stat directory /dev/shm/cvslockdir/rxvt-unicode: Permission denied" which I believe is on the server side.

How about using the magic URL http://cvs.schmorp.de/rxvt-unicode/?view=tar which should download the latest code and doesn't rely on cvs at all ?

Changes are now live. Enjoy!

I can't reach the original maintainer of this package, so I've taken ownership of it, and will upload a new version soon.

To whom it concerns:

I made a new rxvt-unicode-cvs package based on the latest version from [extra]: https://github.com/Tblue/archlinux-packages/tree/master/rxvt-unicode-cvs

This pulls in some fixes to the build process, and also the split-package approach used by the [extra] package. Additionally, the pkgver is set automatically from CVS.

Weird. I could swear it wouldn't render truecolor before I added the flag, but now it works just fine without. Thanks for the reply.

I think this is an old flag. It's not listed in in 'readme.configure' and when googling `rxvt-unicode "enable-24bit"` I get results from 2004. The 24 bit terminal colors are enabled by default.
