Thank you

Ok, re-added font-width-fix.patch.

@Alad: indeed. I guess it's another package for my IgnorePkg list then :-/ The fontwidth patch is *the* main reason why people are using this package. I'm sticking with the 9.22-6 release for now. If this change doesn't get reverted or replaced with something with the same functionality, I may as well start using rxvt-unicode from the official repo and cut down on one foreign package. @blueyed: please reconsider and add the patch again. Removing it without a working replacement is a disruptive change which should be avoided.

So... until this hypothetical wcwidth gets applied, you've removed the one patch that was the reason for using this package. letterSpace doesn't work nearly as well (different values for different fonts and sizes etc.)

Thanks! I've dropped font-width-fix.patch, since I consider it to be wrong, too. You might want to / should use "URxvt*letterSpace: -1" instead, in case of issues. My plan it to keep this in line with https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/rxvt-unicode-wcwidthcallback, and maybe add the wcwidth(3) callback as an option here, once I find more time to clean it up.

Transfered ownership to blueyed as I switched from urxvt to termite.

The PKGBUILD for the mentioned improved wide glyph handling is up: https://github.com/blueyed/PKGBUILD-rxvt-unicode-wcwidthcallback It needs cleanup and testing, but I consider it to be working quite good already. I will write to the rxvt-unicode mailinglist soonish, but have no high hopes that it gets accepted like that, since it uses an extra socket and `LD_PRELOAD`. The PKGBUILD is built on this one, but without font-width-fix.patch, which I also consider to be wrong (there is a comment about it in there).

@blueyed Well, I will follow up. Also looking forward to new patches. And thanks for quick reply.

@alpertuna We tried to debug this in https://github.com/blueyed/PKGBUILD-rxvt-unicode-wide/issues/1, but unfortunately I cannot reproduce it myself. You should follow up there probably. btw: I am cooking another patch in this regard, which is less of a hack in some sense, but more altogether: it injects a LD_PRELOAD for wcwidth/wcswidth and uses that to ask the rxvt-unicode process about the width of a char. Maybe I get back to it on the weekend.

Hi, I use vim and airline plugin with glyph icons. That's why I enabled wide-glyph patch from PKGBUILD. After some upgrade of vim (v8.0 patch), when I launch vim, urxvt crashes with this message; segmentation fault (core dumped) urxvt When I disable glyph icons of airline plugin, problem is gone. Also when I remove wide-glyph patch and rebuild urxvt, again problem is gone but I need that patch. Is there any way to solve it?
