Does anyone have an idea why I frequently have to shutdown and restart the printer after printing a page in KDE ?

Oh, I should add this steps to the install script.
Yes, if you blacklist the usblp it will work after reboot.

After installing this package, I had to remove the usblp module(by typing "rmmod usblp" as root), and then the printer(ML-1665) was detected properly by CUPS. Just a tip if anyone else does have the same issue. NB! don't forget to blacklist the usblp module so the printer also works after a reboot?
