It seems ScanGear is actually broken unfortunately. When I hit "Preview" or "Scan", my scanner begins to work, but ScanGear freezes at 0 % until I turn the scanner off - then ScanGear writes something like "Scanner disconnected." Program that works is XSane, available from the standard repository.

This package can use with other model Canon. Fo example, MP550. May be you should rename package?
