@snakeroot There is no need to set LIBSEAT_BACKEND to logind. Just let it try the available backends in order. The error is just the message that it tried (and failed) to use the seatd backend, before moving on to logind, as it should.

Arch Linux could do with only the logind backend compile-time enabled, but I am personally running seatd instead of systemd-logind on my arch boxes. Call it author bias.

@kennylevinsen Is the correct way to run this for sway under vanilla/systemd Arch to set the LIBSEAT_BACKEND variable to logind (i.e. export LIBSEAT_BACKEND=logind)? That seems to get rid of error messages about inability to write /run/seatd.sock, FWIW.

@fbernier we could add a systemd service for seatd, but it should be noted that libseat's logind backend will suffice - using seatd as replacement for logind is entirely optional on a systemd-based distribution.

This package doesn't seem to install the systemd service. I had to find it in the cache and copy it manually. Is there any reason why ?
