Hi guys !

If you have an invalid MD5 checksum during the build, please clean your cache before flagging it outdated. For yay, it is yay -Scc or you can select the cleanBuild during the installation/update.

If you still have the issue, then flag it outdated :) Thanks guys !

We are sorry if sometimes the package is broken. Blade often changes the archive URL, and sometimes also change the file names in this archive. It is pretty hard to predict the changes, but we try to be as responsive as possible.

The best way to notify us is to ping us on the Shadow's Discord (agentcobra#6142 or Nover#9563) in the Linux channel.

I just uploaded a patched libva-vdpau-driver package to AUR ( https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/libva-vdpau-driver-shadow/ ) which seems to make shadow-beta work on Nvidia cards with the proprietary drivers and VDPAU (at least it does on the two machines I've tried so far). No H.265 support, but regular H.264 seems to run fine. You have to use the --bypass-check option to override the compatibility test.

If anyone tries it out and finds it broken (or working), please let me know over there or on GitHub. :)

Hey guys, the Md5sum looks to be invalid / has been for a little bit here just didn't get a chance to submit comment prior, I'll try to ping on discord in a bit here as well just wanted to give quick heads up, thanks!

edit - Flagged as well but what's very weird is when download directly and check the MD5sum looks proper, bit confused haha - wondering if maybe a yay client issue which case my report was invalid (if so, sorry about that! should've checked first)? Anyone else? edit2 Yup pretty sure a yay AUR client bug as it probably kept the previous binary though not sure why... Sorry about that guys! Per dylanmtaylors comment looks like may be similar as had a binary from May in the cache and never updated the .zip when running, if someone else using yay has this issue just delete ~/.cache/shadow-beta/ShadowBeta.zip and it'll force to redownload

The md5sum of the file actually downloaded was d47e22482755a2fc73061860c09d41ac - this might need updated in the source code. This is actually version 4.2.1, a new release. If you put this value into PKGBUILD after cloning the repo and run makepkg, it works:

source=('https://shadow.tech/linux/shadow-beta.zip')
md5sums=('d47e22482755a2fc73061860c09d41ac')

The .desktop file is actually named shadow-dev.desktop in the new archive so the PKGBUILD script should be updated to reflect this:

    ### Edit launcher
    sed -e 's/^Categories=.*$/Categories=Games;Game;Utility;Virtualization/g' "${pkgdir}/usr/share/applications/shadow-dev.desktop" > shadow-beta.desktop
    sed -i 's/Icon=shadow-dev/Icon=shadow-beta/g' shadow-beta.desktop
    chmod g-w shadow-beta.desktop

    rm "${pkgdir}/usr/share/applications/shadow-dev.desktop"
    mv shadow-beta.desktop "${pkgdir}/usr/share/applications/shadow-beta.desktop"

I made a merge request here: https://github.com/NicolasGuilloux/blade-shadow-beta/pull/32

Please update this so that others can benefit :)

.SRCINFO is package release 2 but PKGBUILD is package release 1

@arekinath I just tried your patched libva-vdpau-driver package on my GTX 1070 and it worked perfectly.

Apparently the latest is broken RE no mouse cursor in full screen and other items RE the blade shadow beta webpage and that they haven't updated app image, I just installed this off the AUR as-is and hit that exact issue RE full screen no mouse cursor (and if don't do full screen I can't play in-game star citizen) - anyoone know what mods can make to roll this back/what commits or version was working? The blade shadow beta page says it's broken but doesn't specify which build exactly so not sure which :) Thanks guys

I think this package is broken. When I clone and install the package and run shadow-beta, it just gives me:

/usr/bin/shadow-beta: line 1: DELETE: command not found

Looks like we've copied the wrong file there.
