With regards to the pod2man error. The binary is not on your path per default. To get it working I had to run:

. /etc/profile.d/perlbin.sh

before executing makepkg -si. Also, you can probably add armv6h to the arch variable in PKGBUILD as this will allow the package to be built and installed on a raspberry-pi. I tested this and everything seems to work.
