@NoXPhasma: In case you haven't done so already, you can execute "cp /usr/share/applications/signal-tray.desktop ~/.local/share/applications/", and edit the .desktop file there as a workaround for the meantime.

@silvio: Thanks for the helpful package. Could you please as pointed out by @NoXPhasma change the line to "Icon=signal-desktop" in the file signal-tray.desktop?

The Icon name should be signal-desktop not signal in the desktop file.
