Package xorg-font-utils is now removed from Arch repositories, please replace with xorg-mkfontscale.

I had the same problem; modifying the PKGBUILD to install the bdf version fixed for me too:

Siji currently isn't working for me due to the latest FreeType update, which invalidated siji.pcf. https://github.com/stark/siji/issues/28
Manually installing the .bdf font from the repo solved the problem.

The .install is not necessary (a wizard from IRC told me to comment that here arguing that the cache font was already handled by the "pacman hook")

Please add xorg-xset to the dependencies, as it gets called in the postinstall.
