@TechXero

If you believe this is an error caused by the packaging, you will need to provide much more details if I should have a chance of locating and correcting the error.

If the error is not about packaging, the error report does not belong here. Instead report the error here:

Somebody requested (and then deleted) a desktop file for SimpleX. The maintainer does not use desktop entries themself, but have added an experimental desktop entry that should start SimpleX in a terminal emulator.

By default, the package will install the light themed icon. If this is not what you want, set the $SIMPLEX_ICON environment variable to dark before invoking makepkg (or whatever you are using to make and install packages):

env SIMPLEX_ICON=dark makepkg […]

The icon requires the hicolor theme directory hierarchy: package hicolor-icon-theme. This package does not itself introduce any icons, just the directory structure.

Feedback (and possible translations for the desktop file) appreciated. Maintainer is unable to test that the desktop stuff is actually working.

@Arisa The developers have published two releases with the same version number (v2.1.0). If you previously had package v2.1.0-1 installed with e.g. yay, yay will not download the new v2.1.0 from MS Github unless you delete the cached version first (e.g., rm -r ~/.cache/yay/simplex-chat-bin).
