Known issues at this point (2025-03-04):

  • App will not start if an upstream update is available, as the app would then end up in an infinite loop, due to the app's internal auto-updater failing over and over again. In that case, this AUR package needs to be updated to the latest version.
  • Some icons may not display correctly.

Have used your package before but its out of date and I had to build my own: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/sipgate

Fyi: As of version 2.8.4, the upstream package has changed the install folder from /opt/sipgate CLINQ to /opt/sipgate.

Generally, the term "CLINQ" has been removed from the application entirely, meaning that the upstream application has more or less changed its naming.

Thus, this AUR package's name should probably also be adjusted so that the term "clinq" is removed.

Currently, I'm not familiar with the process of how an AUR package can be renamed (if at all). I'll look into this when it's convenient for me, which might take some time.

Implemented workaround:

  • The sipgate app's implicit auto update behaviour does not work. In fact it will cause the app to end up in a loop, trying to update, failing, trying again, etc.

For now, this is being addressed by wrapping the app's binary into a startup script that checks if any updates exist before startup and if so, notify the user to update the AUR package.
