I honestly don't understand what you mean. If you mean pkgver, it will be overwritten when you build the package. But it hasn't changed for ages now, last commit was 9 years ago.

I noticed the PKGBUILD is pinned to a release version rather than tracking the main branch in the source repo.
As per aur submission guidelines packages that build from vcs and are not tied to a specific version need to have an appropriate suffix, -git" [1][2].
To be inline with the policy, the PKGBUILD would have to be modified to track the main branch in the source repo or migrated to a plain aur package without any postfix.
