@a172, when do you get that error? I'm not getting it, and I don't have openh264 installed...

Missing dependancy
openh264
(AUR). Without it, you get:If others are not having this problem, it might be a Wayland dependency.

@jbmorgado Fixed it, I've added it as an optional dependency. :)

Is missing a dependency:
libappindicator-gtk3
Without this, it doesn't show the notification indicator in the status bar on Gnome.

For people with difficulties signing in:
This should open the workspace. The slack:// link is one-time use only, and will be cleared from your clipboard when focusing the client.
I was continually retrying this method, but was re-using the initial link I got from signing in. After getting a "fresh" link, it finally worked.

@whiredplanck
Hi. I'd like to maintain the package, you could add me as a maintainer.

@mprom @whiredplanck in the current version (4.8.0) there doesn't seem to be anywhere to paste the URL. I don't think there is meant to be though because Slack will read your clipboard and if you have a slack:// URL there, it'll do the sign in magic (as per https://github.com/flathub/com.slack.Slack/issues/34#issuecomment-590429322). The mechanism works in that when I have a slack:// URL on the clipboard, slack sees it, reloads and then clears the clipboard. You can't see the reload in the UI but if you launch slack from the terminal, you can see the log output is the same as when you first the load the app. The problem is that it doesn't actually sign me in, it still shows the sign in page.
I'm using i3 on Manjaro and some windows behave weirdly when displayed in i3. Maybe my problem is related to that.

@mprom Sorry, actually I don't use Slack. It's my friend asked me to package and maintain this package, he need Slack when he works (but he want to use the system's
electron
package). According to his experience, the copy-and-paste-link method still works ...... I just guessed how it might be done.mprom commented on 2020-08-15 15:30 (UTC)
@whiredplanck Paste it into what field? There's no obvious field in the Slack window to paste anything into
