I think this package should be removed for a basic security issue.

FYI: https://spyware.neocities.org/articles/slimjet.html
I think this package should be removed for a basic security issue.
Why can't it work without root permissions? This is by itself a security risk.
It does not seem to provide a system wide pepper-flash
(It is in /opt/slimjet/PepperFlash
, but not installed system-wide). So, consider removing the provides
-entry, since it creates unnessesary conflicts with other packages.
(Same with slimjet
. There is no slimjet
symlinked to /usr/bin
.)
license=('custom:slimjet')
, but the package fails to install the license text (or at least a note) to /usr/share/licenses/${pkgdir}
.
This package provides a precompiled binary. So please rename it to slimjet-bin
, or build it from source. (Building from source might also solve segfault-issues.)
md5sums are wrong (at least for x86_64).
And makepkg -Ci
, as noted in a comment, is definitely not a solution.
Thanks for maintaining!
If you are having problems with sums, simply use makepkg -Ci and it works fine.
Thanks for this package. I'm very grateful to have a browser that doesn't phone home. For some reason the only way to install this package currently is by
yaourt -G slimjet
pushd slimjet
makepkg -si --noconfirm --skipchecksums
popd
Maintainer:
The new checksums are:
md5sums_i686=('4678a99a43ec459ed0f9f71625ec3264')
md5sums_x86_64=('6de3c8e8bd88ca3e298b1166ff8b25e2')
