I guess you have something in your user environment that softmaker doesn't like.

As well as the information I requested from simona, please also include the output of env and uname -a, running as the regular user with the problem.

Side note: running something like this as root is a Really Bad Idea™.

I have the same problem, that all SoftMaker Apps will do a "SegFault" when started as a regular user. The Logfiles are empty. It all works great as "root".

I installed it the first time and this is the error launching "textmaker18" at console. For the rest I will say.

I'm going to need a bit more information if you want help with that. e.g. When does the segfault occur? Did it ever work? What changed between it last working and now? What does the coredump contain? ( https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Core_dump#Examining_a_core_dump )

Also, check the package's consistency with 'pacman -Qkk'.
