@jghodd

Thank you for your comment! I modeled the dependencies of sonicde-meta after Arch Linux - plasma-meta that contains Arch Linux - plasma-welcome.

I understand your idea and would kindly ask you to create an enhancement request at Issues · sonicde-arch/sonicde-arch since I'd like to track and upstream it.

It would be great if plasma-welcome were an optional dependency. When using sonic in a live system, the welcome popup is not something we want to see. Also, there appears a bug somewhere that short circuits any attempts to make the welcome box go away via configuration (plasma-welcomerc -> ShouldShow=false does not work). There are absolutely many situations where plasma-welcome is not wanted. I've gone ahead and just removed it from the dependency list when I build this package, but I don't want to have to do that every time if it can be addressed now. The perspective should be to assume nobody wants plasma-welcome and if somebody does want it, they can always add it to their package mix without it having to be something's dependency.
