@buttcake @M0Rf30: The source specified in the PKGBUILD for the binary for the 64-bit version just redirects to the 32-bit version. Hence the error experienced by buttcake and Abysmall when trying to run it. The url specified for the 64-bit version on the SoulseekQt website is now "https://www.dropbox.com/s/7qh902qv2sxyp6p/SoulseekQt-2016-1-17-64bit.tgz". I have updated the new source in the PKGBUILD and it is now working on 64-bit OS. The updated PKGBUILD for anyone that needs it: https://gist.github.com/donatelloraphael/81ee5c4781be802e73e16db06a9c7944

@buttcake: I'm having the very same problem. I really wonder what it's caused by because ltrace and strace don't show anything special. xecve("/usr/bin/soulseekqt", ["/usr/bin/soulseekqt"], [/* 28 vars */]) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory) fstat(2, {st_mode=S_IFCHR|0620, st_rdev=makedev(136, 1), ...}) = 0 write(2, "strace: exec: No such file or di"..., 40strace: exec: No such file or directory ) = 40 getpid() = 8823 exit_group(1) = ? +++ exited with 1 +++ Can't execute `/usr/bin/soulseekqt': No such file or directory failed to initialize process 8868: No such file or directory couldn't open program '/usr/bin/soulseekqt': No such file or directory $ md5sum < /usr/bin/soulseekqt 3c2d2760e0765161b3dc39195c856ce4 -

@buttcake I don't know. This might actually be a really bad bug, as it's reporting a buffer overflow. Already reported here: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/soulseek-discussion/XTOnOTcwOks

it also uses 100% cpu on popular albums with lots of entries on search and the author of the software doesn't want to release the source code or give actual attention to the linux version.

lnicola commented on 2017-02-25 17:17 (UTC)

This keeps crashing during search.

what do we miss to enter [extra] repo? any chance for a 64bit build?

People are flagging this out of date because they keep comparing it to the Windows version which was built and shipped in April.
