The way that you used the install command is... interesting. A lot of the commands themselves were redundant; I have posted a PKGBUILD with the redundancies removed here: https://gist.github.com/3436610 The page also has a slightly cleaned-up install file.

Well, I manually purged all application files and reinstalled this package, and it is now working again. Not sure what the deal was before. Thanks anyway!

$ ldd /usr/bin/SpiderOak => not a dynamic executable is OK, since it is launch script. Why actually you trying to execute it using sudo - it should be executed as a normal user. Can you post output of ls -la /usr/bin/SpiderOak command here.

Update seems to have broken this package for me. $ sudo /usr/bin/SpiderOak => /usr/bin/SpiderOak: /usr/bin/SpiderOak: cannot execute binary file $ ldd /usr/bin/SpiderOak => not a dynamic executable Where can I find the last version? I no longer have it on system.

PKGBUILD was slightly updated, switched to rpm version for Fedora. Please let me know, if anything is wrong with this updated package. Thanks!

I had to stop using SpiderOak because it's gone mad. It was scanning empty folders, or folders with just few txt files, for hours, with 100% cpu usage. And when it finished, after an hour it started all over again. WTF?

There is a bug where launching external URLs won't work with the current build script. The problem is because SpiderOak temporarily removes /usr/lib/SpiderOak from LD_LIBRARY_PATH when trying to launch the URL. Since this PKGBUILD installs in /opt/SpiderOak, the preload isn't properly cleared and the OS'es Qt isn't used for the launcher operation. There are two workaround for this. The easiest is to run /opt/SpiderOak/SpiderOak directly instead of from the startup script (/usr/bin/SpiderOak). This may run into some problems though with some Qt plugins. The other workaround is to have PKGBUILD install in /usr/lib/SpiderOak, and to have the startup script set LD_LIBRARY_PATH accordingly. We are aware of this issue at SpiderOak and hope to come up with a fix for this in a future release. :-)
