Oh, wait, nevermind. I made sure I was in the directory for spideroak-one, in /var/tmp, and then ran the commands. That worked. Thanks!

I'm getting:

Validating source files with sha256sums... spideroakone_7.5.2_amd64.deb ... Passed LICENSE ... FAILED ==> ERROR: One or more files did not pass the validity check! Error: Failed to build spideroak-one

@almax00 Can you explain in more detail how to use the commands you suggest? Do I need to insert those into the pkgbuild somewhere?

almax00 commented on 2025-04-20 01:02 (UTC)

if you get LICENSE....FAILED use: updpkgsums && makepkg -i -s -c

Thank you so much. It's very much appreciated ;-) Once I gain a little more knowledge of the platform, I hope to be able to do the same.

I'll do it if there's no one else. I can update it tonight when I get home from work.

Same here! I emailed spideroak support and explained that it is no longer maintained in the arch linux AUR and I unfortunately don't yet have the chops to make a PKGBUILD from the tarball. Waiting to hear back.

just got an email from SpiderOak support. They have updated to 7.5.2. I haven't DL'd it yet. I don't know anything about package maintenance. Anyone?

peregrinus commented on 2025-04-03 17:37 (UTC)

I disowned this package as I am no longer using it.

Thank you, @broms, for the update. Glad to read that upstream is still patching.

I cannot reproduce the error, though; not on my system, or in a clean chroot.

looks like there's an issue in the latest version with updates to twisted:

On Feb 26, I got a response from the upstream support saying they were working on a patch. So I think there's at least some maintenance going on.
