If you are coming from an spl modules installation that is older than 0.6.3_1.2, this package fails to install with a file conflict with /etc/hostid. Build this package and force installation as "pacman -U --force spl-hostid-0.1-1-any.pkg.tar.xz". The package automatically picks up your existing file from /etc/hostid.pacorig. From now on, the hostid file is managed by this package, which in theory you should only install once.
