Spotify servers always drop connections in the first few days of any release, it fails and can't resume. Just wait until the servers are stable enough to complete the download.

Or maybe download the binary with wget (which does have resume failed) then drop it on the aur helper building directory and edit the PKGBUILD. You can also edit /etc/pacman.conf to uncomment the use of wget of curl with resume failed, but the output will be uglier.

It seems the repo servers are not working correctly, it prematurely closes the connection after 1%. Is there an alternate download location?

@Renom it does https://community.spotify.com/t5/Desktop-Linux/Any-plans-to-port-spotify-to-GTK3/m-p/5096205

ReNoM commented on 2021-03-04 13:21 (UTC)

Does it actually require gtk2?

@MCOfficer, I don't think the sudo on the gpg command is required unless you run makepkg with sudo as well. I actually had to import the key as my regular user for it to be accepted.

MCOfficer commented on 2020-11-10 10:16 (UTC)

FWIW, you can also import the key directly:

curl -sS https://download.spotify.com/debian/pubkey_0D811D58.gpg | sudo gpg --import

@damico did that and it worked, thanks !
