Please add a conflict against spotifyd and provide spotifyd at the same time. Then users get a warning when one of those package is already installed.

This package is currently missing a dependency on alsa-lib, without which it doesn't start.

Of course, it is a bit silly to want to have a spotify player without ALSA, but it would be nice to have it in the dependencies anyway. Other than that, great package! Really enjoying my raspberry-pi spotify stream box.

Maybe you should use a version based on the date? From pacman's point of view, 2dfc6a8728585e058ff6 is lower than 49c75d3077998929f42e.

Also, doesn't build on x86_64, the official ArchLinux platform. It's generally okay to be compatible with other architectures, but it's not so okay to ONLY support those.

The systemd service file would be a lot more useful as a user service:

"${pkgdir}/usr/lib/systemd/user/spotifyd.service"

This way, users can control the daemon, rather than requiring root to do it.
