Sorry fellas, it turned out I didn't merge the changes of my main repo where the template PKGBUILD sits so on auto update, the old template was used which didn't had webkit2gtk-4.1 listed as dependency. I've updated the PKGBUILD and should work now

@spsf64 It was added as a dependency before, you can check the PKGBUILD changes for that, but it was removed in 3.8.1, maybe he was trying to do something different/reduce dependencies?

@KRTirtho, you say webkit2gtk-4.1 is required, but is not in dependency list. I had to install manually to make spotube launch. Also, the spotify window for login is always black, so I am unable to connect to spotify...

@Erwin_losef mpv is used by Spotube under the hood to play the audio thus the depdence on it

Yeah just realized webkit2gtk still provides webkit2gtk-4.0.so and spotube requires webkit2gtk-4.1.so. I've upgraded the dependencies.

It needs webkit2gtk-4.1 not webkit2gtk

Looks like webkitgtk2-4.1 is it's own package and spotube throws an error that says spotube: error while loading shared libraries: libwebkit2gtk-4.1.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Which is provided by installing the above package.

Will this package set webgtk2-4.1 as a dependency or will it port to the current and standard webgtk package?
