Please add the following (or something along these lines) into pkgbuild:

mkdir -p $pkgdir/usr/lib/xfce4/thunar-archive-plugin
cp $pkgdir/usr/lib/{squeeze,xfce4}/thunar-archive-plugin/squeeze.tap

So it works with thunar-archive-plugin.

rogue_ronin commented on 2014-12-31 02:49

Trying to use this with thunar-archive-plugin. I've created a .tap file in /usr/lib/xfce4/thunar-archive-plugin, and set its permissions to executable.

This is the relevant section of the .tap file, based on the squeeze --help command:

===============

case $action in
create)
exec squeeze --new="$@"
;;

extract-here)
exec squeeze --extract-to="$folder" "$@"
;;

extract-to)
exec squeeze --extract "$@"
;;

*)
echo "Unsupported action '$action'" >&2
exit 1
esac

===============

I've only tried it with zip and tar.gz files. Both of these leave a dialog box up, pulsing away, even when the files are extracted properly. Zip creates the wrong folder name (unzipped) -- and if you choose the extract-to option, nothing is extracted. I could describe more, but it's easy to set up and test.

Have I somehow done this wrongly?

Aloha.

I've added a patch for .tar.xz files

Dea993 commented on 2014-11-24 14:24

steinkrauz commented on 2014-11-24 12:42

Removed --disable-debug as a workaround for the segmentation fault bug.

Dea993 commented on 2014-11-22 09:56

segmentatio error, when i open an archive

SirPortal commented on 2014-08-26 16:01

I cannot delete it in apper, octopi, appset or by pacman -R squeeze(-git) - no such package. How to?

Alad commented on 2014-08-03 22:31

xfconf is still not listed as depends, so the build still fails

Skunnyk commented on 2014-04-29 16:21

@Weby : the git version already use gio backend, no need to port it :)

Weby commented on 2014-04-29 15:16

Version 0.2.3 uses the now deprecated thunar-vfs (which uses the deprecated Hal).

I wanted to do a port but there is too much to change from thunar-vfs to gvfs...

PiousMinion commented on 2013-11-01 20:36

Build fails with "The required package libxfconf-0 was not found on your system.". I'm not sure if it's a build dep or a runtime dep, but please add xfconf as appropriate.

PiousMinion commented on 2013-11-01 20:30

Build fails with "The required package libxfconf-0 was not found on your system." and I'm unable to find "libxfconf" with pkgfile. :(

Diego commented on 2013-07-03 16:07

I'll fix tomorrow... thank you!

Corubba commented on 2013-07-03 16:03

Build (autogen) fails for me because of missing m4 directory. Adding `mkdir -p m4` in build() fixes the problem.

Skunnyk commented on 2013-07-02 18:31

Disown the package, no more time right now :) You can look at http://git.xfce.org/apps/squeeze/log/?h=stephan/new-ui for futur versions.

Jristz commented on 2013-07-01 23:53

you can update to pacman4.1 git new capabilities... remmember use .git for separate the 'version' from the 'git number'

or disown this package??

evilgnome commented on 2013-06-30 22:22

This package currently installs zero files.

I installed xfce4-dev-tools-git but still have an error during building with above msg. Any help?

ewtoombs commented on 2012-12-16 22:52

nvm, I just figured out why. Squeeze doesn't work.

ewtoombs commented on 2012-12-16 22:34

Forgive my ignorance, but why the hell is this in the aur and not in extra? It might not be abandoned. It might just be complete. In any case, it's the only good archiving UI for xfce that doesn't pull in all of nautilus.

luispa commented on 2012-11-13 13:35

Hi,
Squeeze complains about missed applications when trying to unzip (extract) a file. Message is:
"Squeeze no puede extraer de este tipo de archivo:
falta la aplicación que lo soporta."
It means something like this:
"Squeeze can't extract file type:
The needed application is missing"
When I try to unzip (open) a file nothing happens, but if I run it from the console I see this message:
** (squeeze:1531): CRITICAL **: file archive.c: line 451 (lsq_archive_operate): should not be reached
I have installed all dependencies and libraries, I guess there's something to fix in the /usr/share/squeeze files.
By the way, Are the squeeze developers still supporting it?
Thank you very much in advance,
Luis Pablo

xfconf is missing as a build dependency:

checking for libxfconf-0 >= 4.7.0... not found
*** The required package libxfconf-0 was not found on your system.
*** Please install libxfconf-0 (atleast version 4.7.0) or adjust

Skunnyk commented on 2012-05-08 16:01

@corubba: should be better now :)

Corubba commented on 2012-05-08 11:45

On my machine, it installs the tap-file to /usr/lib/thunar-archive-plugin/, but Thunar looks for it in /usr/lib/xfce4/thunar-archive-plugin/. Would be nice if you could include a fix for this.

Skunnyk commented on 2012-01-16 14:50

Ok, it's a problem with xfce4-dev-tools. Git master need xfce4-dev-tools-git package (from aur).
A new release of xfce4-dev-tools will happen very soon. Thank you for your feedback :-)

@Jristz : please don't flag this package out of date with no reason.
What are your autotools/libtool versions ? (pacman -Q | grep -e auto -e libtool)
Have you tried with an empty build directory ?
