error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: installing $PACKAGE ($VERSION) breaks dependency 'libXXX.so=$VERSION' required by $THIS_PACKAGE

You need to remove this package before updating and rebuild it after the update (re-installing the old package will not work) or maintain your local AUR packages repository; this is for preventing to keep a non-working package which will fail to run with the error: error while loading shared libraries: libXXX.so.XXX: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Thank you. That fixed it.

are you using yay for AUR packages? When installing, take the option to do a clean build for it. This will pick up the dependencies correctly

Did that. Now I can't reinstall squeezelite

warning: cannot resolve "libavformat.so=61-64", a dependency of "squeezelite"
:: The following package cannot be upgraded due to unresolvable dependencies:
      squeezelite

uninstall squeezelite, do the system upgrade and then reinstall squeezelite

'pacman -Syu' is no longer happy upgrading ffmpeg. Seems to be being held back by a dependency in squeezelite:

resolving dependencies...
looking for conflicting packages...
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: installing ffmpeg (2:8.0-3) breaks dependency 'libavformat.so=61-64' required by squeezelite

Can you update to 1507? Thanks

I think the commit hash in the PKGBUILD needs updating to 0e85ddfd79337cdc30b7d29922b1d790600bb6b4 - this is the commit that provided support for ffmpeg 7
