It seems to me that what you ask is configuration that the user should take care of. Upstream just provides the binary on their releases page. I looked at Debian packages and they also provide just the binary (though they look outdated). However, I could add the sample configuration example to the package.

That said, if you have a patch I could add you as co-maintainer.

good program, please add the config file to /etc/, a unit file to start it and logging to var log
