Haha ... I'm actually the one who opened that issue :)

I'm going to leave dmidecode out for now because of this: http://bugs.star-made.org/issues/1192
Thanks for letting me know about it though.

Starmade tries to execute dmidecode when started, so it should probably
be listed as an optional dependency?
But I doubt that it'll be used anyway since it needs root privileges.

So I did as you said and arguments should work now. Let me know if there's any problems.

"starmade -nogui" won't work with the bash script because the script (/usr/bin/starmade) is not prepared to take command line arguments. The simple addition of $1 to the end of it enabled me to pass "-nogui" to it, or to use it with no command line argument.
As for the dependencies, on a fresh arch install, I was required to install those before I could install this. It's possible that they were dependencies of dependencies. If so, I apologize that I did not take better notes of the process.

The launcher has been updated to v14.
mrhanman, I have a couple questions for you.
1. Sorry for my naivety but how would you make starmade accept -nogui? couldn't you just run 'starmade -nogui'? If you need flags for a dedicated server then a starmade-dedicated-server package should be submitted to the AUR rather than bloating this pkgbuild.
2. I can't find anywhere else suggesting libcups and fontconfig are dependencies for Starmade. Where'd you hear about those dependencies?
Comment by mrhanman
Can you make starmade accept flags on the commandline, such as -nogui?
It also depends on libcups and fontconfig.

I misclicked and flagged it out of date, and I can't unflag it. According to google, only the owner can. Sorry.

I updated to v9. I wont be using the alternative download because it unnecessarily complicates the code. The normal launcher download is still the latest version, the only reason why it wouldn't install was because of the md5 checksum fail.
Comment by ASzc
The "latest" package version model won't work for this software, because the launcher apparently can't autoupdate itself.
Using the "Alternative Download" link on the Star Made site Download page gives a versioned jar.
