Updated to v1.4.0 and changed the package, as requested. Requires rsync as a makedependency though, because some files are being excluded while copying the archive content to the pkgdir. rsync is the best way to do this, otherwise we'd need to copy all files and delete the unnecessary ones, or use different commands which are not readable that well. I hope it's alright.

@bastimeyer: Thats sounds great, thanks for your understanding!

@cryzed Sure, I'll change this on the next release. I don't want to bump the package release number for this change and trigger an unnecessary re-download for everyone. The usage of {add,remove}-menuitem.sh in this package was added out of convenience, but is indeed problematic in terms of package file ownership.

Would it be possible for you to simply create the *.desktop file and icons and package them, instead of running add-menuitem.sh and remove-menuitem.sh during the installation? Running these scripts (which are actually kind of hard to even find in the first place while just inspecting the *.INSTALL file) as root, doesn't feel very good. I checked them, and as of right now they look okay, but it still is not really needed at all -- the result of running those scripts could easily be integrated into the PKGBUILD, which would also allow pacman to track them properly on the system.

Hmm... Out of some reason it wasn't available but after running that script it is... weird...

bastimeyer commented on 2017-02-19 21:17 (UTC)

@z3ntu The .desktop file is being generated by add-menuitem.sh that is being run in post_install/post_upgrade. See https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/tree/streamlink-twitch-gui.install?h=streamlink-twitch-gui and https://github.com/streamlink/streamlink-twitch-gui/blob/v1.1.1/build/resources/linux/add-menuitem.sh

Wasn't there a .desktop file at some point? Now I always have to start it with 'streamlink-twitch-gui' instead of having an entry in my application launcher.

The package has been updated to the latest version. @Hydeh Streamlink is not an official package (yet). Any AUR helper will resolve this package from the AUR automatically. Please don't post any application related issues in the package comments here. @Jujstme Streamlink and Livestreamer are now set as optional dependencies. This will be changed again once Livestreamer support is being dropped (the Livestreamer project is dead). I hope this won't cause any confusion for people who don't read the install log.

When I run "makepkg -si" in the streamlink-twitch-gui.tar.gz file I get this output error: target not found: streamlink ==> ERROR: 'pacman' failed to install missing dependencies
