@crotok Thanks for your update.
The update message don't appear anymore.
And providing this solution by default seem the best way.

I just pushed a new version that change the javascript var "VERSION" to "testing". This way, the app won't check for PPA updates. And it changes nothing to the rest of the app.

Thanks for pointing me this issue!

Your package is very good.
But this software have a wrong update detection solution (the PPA).

After each update I always edit the file /opt/streamstudio-bin/js/update.js and add return; just after the function checkUpdates line.
I'm not sure this is the best way but it work.

Would it be possible to have a var that can be set in PKGBUILD who disable the native checkUpdate when I install this package?

Installation worked fine for me , thought to get streamstudio to play youtube videos I had to start it with sudo.
But as a system update came out I get this error trying to play a video : [9474:9474:0418/] MediaEvent: PIPELINE_ERROR demuxer: could not open
Does anybody know how to solve that one?

@dreieck Thanks for notifying me the issue, and I've just bumped the package to the lastest version (3.7.1)

dreieck commented on 2016-12-26 10:45

sha256sum is outdated (at least for the 64bit-version). (Clean build.)

I think your pacaur cache contains an old streamstudio archive, so the checksum is invalid.

Can you try deleting the streamstudio folder pacaur cache, like this:

rm -rf ~/.cache/pacaur/streamstudio-bin/

i dont understand why it's still not working for me...
I dl the file, and manually checksum, it matches with one in PKGBUILD, but still error :
:: failed to verify streamstudio-bin integrity
