@ryansito: Thanks for the notifications. I have checked and there is no version newer that 0.106.0 on either https://github.com/sugarlabs/sugar/releases or http://download.sugarlabs.org/sources/sucrose/glucose/sugar/ so the package is up to date. The dependency for gwebsockets is confirmed when I do a "pip freeze" but I don't know if it's really much needed or not. There used to be a package in AUR but that one is apparently gone now. I'll add one and update the dependency of sugar

python2-gwebsockets-git not found https://www.archlinux.org/packages/?q=python2-gwebsockets-git . Does sugar strongly depends on it?

Normally, installing the xorg and xorg-apps along with a display manager (for instance, gdm) should be enough...

It seems that there is not a lot of info on getting sugar to run in Arch. I discovered through trial and error that after all dependencies of this package are satisfied 'makepkg' will still fail unless it is run from within X. Having finally installed sugar I am still at a loss as to how to start it. I then had the idea of installing LightDM and the LightDM GTK3 Greeter but after a brief flicker of the screen upon entering my username and password I am returned to the login in screen. Will someone be so kind as to point me to some useful resources for how to install sugar in a "clean" (ie. having followed the Arch "Beginner's Guide") install of Arch? I appoligize in advance for posting this here...

The latest stable release is 0.100.2. Please update this package even if the XO images are not updated yet.

Yep but I've decided to stick to the latest release which currently ships 0.98.7 (see http://download.laptop.org/xo-1/os/official/13.2.0-13/32013o0.activities.txt and http://download.laptop.org/xo-1/os/official/13.2.0-13/32013o0.packages.txt)

This is useful for whose (like me) who want to have the same sugar on their PCs as the one available on the XOs.

It would be great to update this to 0.100 :)
