Upstream URL is dead. This is the new one: http://sup-heliotrope.github.io/ Can you change it when you get a chance please? Also I think ruby-rake is needed in makedepends.

I got errors. (Use the scroll bar to see the whole thing.) sudo gem install --user-install activerecord sudo gem install --user-install sqlite3 But I still get: /usr/lib/ruby/gems/2.4.0/gems/sup-999/lib/sup/config.rb:60:in `load_config': undefined method `fix_encoding!' for "djringjr":String (NoMethodError) from /usr/lib/ruby/gems/2.4.0/gems/sup-999/bin/sup:13:in `<top (required)>' from /usr/bin/sup:23:in `load' from /usr/bin/sup:23:in `<main>' My user account is djrinigjr. Any suggestions? djringjr

@egils: Try something like this: LD_LIBRARY_PATH="/usr/lib/ruby/gems/2.4.0/gems/xapian-ruby-1.2.22/lib":$LD_LIBRARY_PATH sup

dpriskorn commented on 2017-03-02 05:49 (UTC)

@asch: Might be. $ $LD_LIBRARY_PATH returns nothing thus the path is not set. What should it be? I dont understand what it does and did not find anything on a quick search. Would you be kind to help me set it?

asch commented on 2017-03-01 23:38 (UTC)

@egils: Not true. All dependencies are listed properly. I guess that your LD_LIBRARY_PATH is wrong thus the dependencies errors.

Hi. I just installed Arch on a x86_64 machine. First I noticed that all dependencies were not listed in the PKGBUILD. I installed ruby-sqlite3, ruby-thread_safe & ruby-activerecord Then I met this error and got stuck (my username is "egil"): $ sup /usr/lib/ruby/gems/2.4.0/gems/sup-999/lib/sup/config.rb:60:in `load_config': undefined method `fix_encoding!' for "egil":String (NoMethodError) from /usr/lib/ruby/gems/2.4.0/gems/sup-999/bin/sup:13:in `<top (required)>' from /usr/bin/sup:22:in `load' from /usr/bin/sup:22:in `<main>' this method seems to be widely used in sup according to: https://github.com/sup-heliotrope/sup/search?q=.fix_encoding!&type=Code&utf8=%E2%9C%93 maybe a dependency is missing? I guessed from this link http://www.rubydoc.info/gems/rest-client/2.0.0/RestClient%2FResponse.fix_encoding that maybe ruby-rest-client was needed and tried installing that to no avail. Here is my list of gems: activemodel (5.0.1) activerecord (5.0.1) activesupport (5.0.1) arel (7.0.0) bigdecimal (default: 1.3.0) chronic (0.9.1) concurrent-ruby (1.0.2) did_you_mean (1.1.0) highline (1.7.8) http-cookie (1.0.2) i18n (0.7.0) io-console (default: 0.4.6) json (1.8.1) locale (2.1.1) lockfile (2.1.3) mime-types (3.1) mime-types-data (3.2016.0521) minitest (5.10.1) ncursesw (1.4.9) net-telnet (0.1.1) netrc (0.10.3) openssl (default: 2.0.2) power_assert (0.4.1) psych (default: 2.2.2) rake (12.0.0) rdoc (default: 5.0.0) rmail (1.1.2) sqlite3 (1.3.11) sup (999) test-unit (3.2.3) thread_safe (0.3.5) trollop (2.1.2) tzinfo (1.2.2) unicode (0.4.4.2) xapian-ruby (1.2.22) xmlrpc (0.2.1)

@egils: Done. Thanks.

this package does not work currently on arch because of the recent ruby update. I suggest changing to the fork of quark-zju which has fixed the Fixnum-error issues among others. https://github.com/quark-zju/sup

@asch: That did the trick! Many thanks for the big help.

asch commented on 2016-03-15 20:34 (UTC)

@lasers: Nope, everything works here. Try to rebuild all ruby dependencies installed from AUR.
