I know, I'm checking new release carefully and will be updating asap.

The original author William has made contact with the new maintainers, a new maintenance release sup-0.13 is out soon http://www.mail-archive.com/sup-talk@rubyforge.org/msg04564.html

Cannot figure out why it does not work with ruby 1.9.3 -- orphaning.

Sup is dead, don't use it unless you want to hack it. And if you want to hack it, do it with git version. Good luck.

Cannot build. Annoyingly, most of the dependencies are not in the main repositories, AUR only. ruby-locale is in neither repositories or AUR.

For me sup was falling apart completely, crashed on many searches, eventually crashed on every start. There's little response from upstream, the primary developer develops the successor, a few people patch sup a little, but it's not nearly enough. For me sup is not even on life-support, it's dead. It worked well for one and a half years, had lots of issues the last half year or so, and now I recommend to move on. notmuch is usable, certainly the emacs interface. The vim interface is somewhat limited, alot has the basics and is steadily improving. Goodbye sup.

Thanks to diegoM sup is working again, but the correct command is: $sudo pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/ruby-1.9.2_p290-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz

I just managed to "solve" my problems as well. I too had to downgrade ruby. My crash problem was due to some message, couldn't tell which one or which properties made it crash though, I just deleted all messages from those 1-2 days. I'm glad it works again.

Hi, recently, with the helps of Michitux in #sup, I downgraded the ruby package, and now sup its working again. If you are lucky , its enough to run: $sudo pacman -S /var/cache/pacman/pkg/ruby-1.9.2_p290-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz If you are not, read: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Downgrading_Packages
