Okay, sup-devel had about this thing already ( http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.mail.sup.devel/452 ). My fix was to add this in sup.rb ## determine encoding and character set $encoding = Locale.current.charset $encoding = "UTF-8" if $encoding == "utf8" I guess it works, though anyone has better solutions?

Checked incoming mail to be utf8, and since compose-mode displays them correctly ncursesw must be working okay too. I'm confused.

I can't seem to get utf8 working. All non-ascii characters seem to be visible in a form such as "\xe4" for ä and "\xf6" for ö. Any fellow archers have utf8 working with sup? -- When composing mail the characters display fine. Is this just a problem with incoming mail being non-utf8?

Please consider bitching at the upstream. They have a mailing list. It has mails (Unless it's my bad, in which case, bitch at me more.)

fair enough.

No, that's the naming convention for libraries for languages. This is a user-end package, and thus it should not be named in this way. In fact, I had the ruby-sup package that once existed removed since the TUs agreed with me on this point.

btw, for consistency's sake, shouldn't this package be renamed ruby-sup ?

Okay, good idea guys. I'll hopefully do this tomorrow -- just starting a new semester at school.
