aria2 is not a torrent client, but it can handled the bittorrent client effectively. i initially went the route of not explicitly defining aria2 as a makedep, but it was a crapshoot either way. in any case, i feel like allowing the torrent download is justified, but i will pull out the makedep in the next pkgrel. this pkgbuild is also not complex in the slightest, and makes the only effective use of the given variables i've seen. the most complicated thing i've done is use indirection in variables, it's not very well-known. on the other hand, this PKGBUILD is nearly 100% universal for all humble indie bundle games. only a few minor tweaks are necessary to add a bit of logic like extra _humblebundleXkey variables. the torrent option shall remain.

zendeavor, you clearly have a different understanding of "best" than the rest of Arch Linux. "most complicated" != "best". Requiring a torrent client just to build a package, srsly?

my mistake, the package is aria2, but the command is aria2c. simply edit the PKGBUILD and drop that errant c, a new PKGBUILD is in the works.

There is a mistake in the PKGBUILD. The package is named "aria2" not "aria2c".

Now I cannot compile it anymore because of aria2c. What is this ? It doesn't even exist on AUR nor in the official repositories.

PKGBUILD now supports downloading with aria2c for torrents, contributors are properly credited, some minor bugfixes were implemented, and a .install file has been introduced to bug the user. I don't know what else to implement now, but i feel pretty confident this is the best HIB PKGBUILD available.

made a few minor changes, with quick iterative updates. caused the pkgrel to bump to an inflated value but should be stable now barring any breakage. say hello to your new supermeatboy overlord :D

http://ompldr.org/vZTc5NA bugfix, misused the $pkgver in previous PKGBUILD. fixed now. there are still some other minor issues but i'm going to hammer them out. you may feel free to disown the package if you're so inclined. i will take over.

makepgk --source tries to download the binary. That being said, I"m happy to disown this package -- I only took over when it hadn't been updated for a few months and the maintainer wasn't responding. As you know, my bash isn't terrific!
