I had the same issue as shyce, I deleted my ~/.config/synergy and ~/.config/Synergy directories to reset the application and it fixed the issue. A bit annoying that it just randomly breaks though.

I cannot do that, it's not an option. https://i.imgur.com/lA9P3TG.png

To fix .config/Synergy/db.json ... FAIL

In the top left menu, go to Synergy>About>Update serial key

I'm having the following problem with synergy-service:

synergy-service [2023-06-11T20:12:43] - ERROR - Program failed to start: {"errno":-2,"syscall":"open","code":"ENOENT","path":"/etc/Synergy/loginInfo","name":"Error","message":"ENOENT: no such file or directory, open '/etc/Synergy/loginInfo'","stack":"Error: ENOENT: no such file or directory, open '/etc/Synergy/loginInfo'\n at Object.openSync (fs.js:498:3)\n at Object.openSync (pkg/prelude/bootstrap.js:795:32)\n at Object.writeFileSync (fs.js:1529:35)\n at startProcess (/snapshot/service/dist/synergy-service.js:2:1290673)\n at startServer (/snapshot/service/dist/synergy-service.js:2:1282483)\n at startCore (/snapshot/service/dist/synergy-service.js:2:1279546)\n at s.restartCore (/snapshot/service/dist/synergy-service.js:2:1280327)\n at E.updateCore (/snapshot/service/dist/synergy-service.js:2:1225468)\n at new E (/snapshot/service/dist/synergy-service.js:2:1233030)\n at /snapshot/service/dist/synergy-service.js:2:1245856"}

Basically, it tries to access /etc/Synergy/ which doesn't exist

Synergy-core isn't starting because there is no conf file provided and no apparent way to generate one. Not sure how to generate the db.json or local.json files either. I'm assuming those are created when the server is started. Can you provide a configuration file?

If no configuration file pathname is provided then the first of the
following to load successfully sets the configuration:
  /home/shyce/.synergy.conf
  /etc/synergy.conf
Checking binary synergy ... OK

Ok, it is fixed now. As well as my pkgbuild knowledge :) Added synergy to conflicts - Thanks, @ddavo.

I don't use manjaro. plain old arch here too, with gnome...

keithnyc commented on 2023-06-08 17:17 (UTC)

I have the same issue on a fresh Arch install (not Manjaro, just plain old Arch). I did install KDE Plasma before installing synergy in case that is helpful to know.

arraen commented on 2023-06-08 14:29 (UTC)

Hm... I'm also on Manjaro KDE. Will try to install it on a fresh Manjaro VM and see what's wrong.
