I would consider using syslog-ng-ctl tool to initiate reload, stop instead of sending a signal. In the new release the syslog-ng-ctl reload waits until the request has been processed (either success or failure).

The openrc script package (syslog-ng-openrc) provides /etc/conf.d/syslog-ng, which is a superset of syslog-ng.conf.d (plus some openrc-specific vars). May I suggest you remove syslog-ng-conf.d from packaging to resolve the conflict? The default SYSLOG_NG_CHECKOPTS and SYSLOG_NG_OPTS are empty anyway.

@OrdinaryMagician >docbook-xsl Mmm why? As I can see it's used only to generate man pages but source tarball already contains them (look to doc/man/) so 'make all' do nothing here. BTW XSL_STYLESHEET variable into doc/Makefile.am contains wrong path anyway.
