That was the case for my system76 hardware. I was able to notice the difference very fast. I also had to use systemd to make the system76-power application to work at all. So who knows. I refuse to use their OS because of how they broke their promise on repairability. Could not find a battery anywhere under their brand name. Turns out it was actually manufactured by Clevo Co. Was able to find a battery that they don't offer. 3 years after I bought the thing. Lol Note to self Buy what ever computer you want!

@G34RZ: As far as I know, upower does not interfere with system76-power. I've been using it for several years without issues.

I use GNOME and can manage power profiles from GNOME Settings via power-profiles-daemon, system76-power or tuned. KDE Plasma, COSMIC & Budgie have similar functionality.

If you have upower installed for any reason, if you can uninstall it do so. It will interfere with system76-power thus this application will not work. If you can not uninstall it, as its a dependency on your DE/WM choice, then mask it using systemd. If you need instructions then I will work on providing that up stream. This is my first upload here so please let me know if you think I should improve anything. Like compile times, lol. I did build this for me. So any improvements are done at my own pace. I am not part of System76 in any way shape or form. I am not profiting on their name in any way. I just know other people would probably like an alternative to their desktop to get a GUI that interacts with system76-power AUR package.
