@carlf, I'll have a look and try a clean install on another system. But I think you're having trouble understanding something if you think the startup command is very different.

All their examples use python to run their program, some of them directly and some indirectly. Which is exactly what ours does too. Their install instruction just have you running python Tautulli.py which is essentially what our systemd unit file does, just w/ more options and pointed at python2. Their systemd unit file is similar, but runs the script directly which will depend on the #! at the top which tells it to run python.

Knowing more about the error you saw and where would be super helpful.

I think this package is broken. On clean install, I get an error about not finding the template for index.html. Running per the installation instructions in github, it works fine. The command for starting looks very different in the unit file than it does in the installation instructions.

@konninn, there have been basically no substantial changes to the package since the initial creation. Minor stuff like switching to tmpfiles and correcting ownership/permissions at upgrade are it.

Checkout the package repo and go back to 22 or 25, if you like.

You could also try a re-install or nuking your db/config to start from scratch.

@frydog Your first package was perfect no error, then I updated and got that error, I went over this with tautulli's discord they couldn't help since the log file contains no info, it's clean of errors.

@konninn, I've been upgrading all along and don't see that error. I'd give their Discord server a try and if it turns out to be something package related, let me know.

After upgrading from 22 > 24 > 25 If I remember correctly I've gotten this persistent error when I enter the settings page. https://pastebin.com/0jZGQnkN

I've created a tautulli package and am using it instead of this one now. Once it leaves beta, I'll merge this one into it.

After installing, to migrate your plexpy config and db, run the following commands:

sudo mv /var/lib/plexpy/* /var/lib/tautulli/"
sudo sed 's#\/var\/lib\/plexpy#\/var\/lib\/tautulli#g' -i /var/lib/tautulli/config.ini
sudo chown -R tautulli: /var/lib/tautulli

Hey @Sonic-Y3k, I made a tautulli package and added you as a maintainer. Have a look at it and see what you think, I made a number of changes to bring it inline w/ other packages.

It seems that you were right. Okay I'll create a new AUR package and'll merge them into tautulli.
