Since Microsoft abandoned the official Teams client (which really sucked tbh) I am revisiting this project

I just installed it on a newly setup system as USER using yay:

yay -S teams-nativefier

A start menu entry is available but does not start the app. Investigation shows:

$ grep -i exec /usr/share/applications/teams-nativefier.desktop
Exec=teams-nativefier
$ echo $PATH
/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:…
$ ll /usr/bin/teams-nativefier
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 36 29. Mär 12:15 /usr/bin/teams-nativefier -> /opt/teams-nativefier/MicrosoftTeams
$ ll -d /opt/teams-nativefier
drwx------ 4 root root 4096 29. Mär 12:17 /opt/teams-nativefier

So, the PKGBUILD should add a chmod go+rx /opt/teams-nativefier/. After that, I can start the app via the menu item.

@brody thanks for the feedback. As I don't have a multi-monitor setup and don't use Wayland I can't test it, but my assumption is that nativefier has to be updated.

It looks, that the screen sharing functionality does not work with multi-monitor and Wayland on KDE/Plasma.

In the meantime, changing the user agent in build script yourself to "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64)" or "Chrome/98.0.4758.80 Safari/537.36" seem to work

The user agent should be updated to a more recent version of Chromium, so that we can use all the functions that Microsoft Teams now presents in the browser. It would be very nice, if you could update the package :)
