@swiftgeek if you no longer have time to keep this up to date could you allow one of us to take it over?
bastiendurel commented on 2016-12-01 11:52 (UTC)
teamviewer 12/stable is out now, so the package is really out of date this time ;)
dhtseany commented on 2016-11-22 16:15 (UTC)
@swiftgeek... People likely keep flagging this package as out of date because many of us are still dealing with broken installs after a recent ugprade of our systems. It's been over a month and none of the comments suggesting fixes for resolution are fixing the "Not connected" issues. Just figured you'd want to know.
By the way, if you want a system for troubleshooting/debugging my laptop is still impacted and I'd be happy to assist.

Teamviewer is (for now) a beta version, please stop flagging package out-of-date -.-

@Angel_Caido Thanks a lot!

Teamviewer wasn't launching for me after I updated/upgraded my system. I was having this error message -when running teamviewer from the terminal-:
Init...
XRandRWait: No value set. Using default.
XRandRWait: Started by user.
Checking setup...
Launching TeamViewer ...
Launching TeamViewer GUI ...
0. I killed any teamviewer process running in the background.
1. I removed the teamviewer profile folder located at:
/home/<your user>/.config/teamviewer
2. I ran:
sudo teamviewer --daemon start
3. I started teamviewer without a problem.
I Hope this helps.

As mentioned in @seyn6gk's comment
Without changing anything, since teamviewer 13 a desktop environment/login with display manager like lightdm/sddm/gdm is required.
startx
users can follow workaround mentioned in @r7v s commentr7v commented on 2022-06-07 14:49 (UTC)
Workaround for startx
Create drop-in
/etc/systemd/system/getty@tty1.service.d/getty@tty1.service-drop-in.conf
