@spacepluk, I can't confirm, check if you have the latest version of the PKGBUILD.

spacepluk commented on 2018-10-03 07:21 (UTC)

It doesn't build here. It first complains about the sums, then a patch fails to apply.

@Musikolo, ou so that's the problem ;) I don't remember exactly the way, but in the system tray options/preferences you can mark Telegram to show the icon always/never/automatic - play around there and you will find what you need ;)

@Lenovsky, thank you so much for the fix. The code is building good now. ;-)

Regarding the issue I had with the systray icon, I've found what the issue is. Apparently, with the new libappindicator-gtk3 dependency, the systray icon is hidden under the "Status & Notification" area, as you can see at https://i.imgur.com/sIdiomT.png I don't know if there is any workaround for this, but it would be nice to get the systray icon permanently visible. Otherwise, it looses much the point of it.

Thank you!

Sorry I'm late, everything (or almost - see below) should work fine now.

@Musikolo, I can't reproduce the system tray issue, so it's hard to come up with something - let me know if the problem still occurs.

The libtgvoip-2.patch is already applied in the upstream.

@Lenovsky, I wanted to see if the system tray issue was solved, I found a new issue. It seems the patch on line #49 is not working anymore: - https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/tree/PKGBUILD?h=telegram-desktop-git#n49

You can see the full trace of what I get at https://pastebin.com/hiUqAmRk

Thank you!

Please, delete libtgvoip-2.patch. It breaks the build

Yesterday I've tested the package on the KDE and it worked without any problems. I'll investigate further later tonight ;)

@Lenovsky, first of all, thanks a lot for your update.

Regarding the issue that @beaux_monde mentions, I can also confirm I'm getting the same issue with the system tray icon. It doesn't show up in KDE anymore.

I've tried building telegram-desktop-bin AUR package using the same version, and with it everything works as expected. So, apparently, there is something wrong in the new PKGBUILD script. I don't know the reason why this is happening, but it might be related to fact that the dependency list is now different.
