Thanks, works like a charm!

FSMaxB commented on 2017-09-12 18:05 (UTC)

@DarkShadow: Indeed. Now it is downloaded with a different filename every time the version changes.

FSMaxB commented on 2017-09-12 17:56 (UTC)

@DarkShadow44 I have to look into this. I remember there being a way to store the name that a Download is stored as. I'll look into it.

DarkShadow44 commented on 2017-09-12 17:54 (UTC)

Thanks, confirming fixed. Though I too had to delete TerasologyOmega so it would download it again. Is there a way to work around that issue or can't this be helped when the filename stays the same?

FSMaxB commented on 2017-09-12 17:45 (UTC)

@DarkShadow44 Thanks, should be fixed now. I forgot to delete the old before updating the checksum, so updpkgsums didn't download the new release since the file has the same name.

DarkShadow44 commented on 2017-09-12 06:19 (UTC) does not pass the validity check.

FSMaxB commented on 2017-05-08 19:13 (UTC)

@DarkShadow44 The dependencies are fixed. I also used the opportunity to make use of more system libraries and remove more unused builtin ones.

DarkShadow44 commented on 2017-05-06 22:08 (UTC)

xorg-server-utils got removed. Can you look into that?

FSMaxB commented on 2016-03-21 16:55 (UTC)

@wenLiangcan Now fixed, thanks for reporting.

wenLiangcan commented on 2016-03-21 15:31 (UTC)

The value of pkgrel is 2 in .SRCINFO but 1 in PKGBUILD.

FSMaxB commented on 2016-01-15 19:32 (UTC)

@drpsycho: Done. I changed the dependency to java-environment-openjdk=8, same goes for terasology-devbuild

drpsycho commented on 2016-01-15 19:13 (UTC)

Please consider changing the dependency on jdk8-openjdk to java-environment-openjdk=8 so that this PKGBUILD works with alternative OpenJDK builds without modification.

FSMaxB commented on 2015-12-26 19:47 (UTC)

@Jeroen0494: The checksum for is correct, I just checked. Just delete your current and redownload because the one you currently have is either incomplete/corrupt in some other way or it's an old version (if you built Terasology 61 in the same directory before for example).

Jeroen0494 commented on 2015-12-26 14:55 (UTC)

Hi, Please update the checksum for "". Thanks, Jeroen

FSMaxB commented on 2015-03-29 15:31 (UTC)

@qwc: Thanks for pointing this out. I switched to the Omega builds.

qwc commented on 2015-03-28 10:09 (UTC)

Btw. why don't you use the Omega build with all modules bundled?

FSMaxB commented on 2015-02-15 21:42 (UTC)

Oh, I found the problem this time, I fixed the PKGBUILD locally, so it worked for me, but I forgot to upload it. Should be fixed now. What I said earlier about the "src" directory might still happen though.

FSMaxB commented on 2015-02-15 21:37 (UTC)

@BOHverkill I got this error, too sometimes. It was usually fixed by deleting the "src" directory where the zip gets extracted to. I don't know for sure why this happens, but I think this only happens if you build terasology in the same directory where you've built another version before.

BOHverkill commented on 2015-02-15 19:48 (UTC)

I get an build error: unzip: cannot find or open engine-0.48.0-SNAPSHOT.jar, or engine-0.48.0-SNAPSHOT.jar.ZIP.

FSMaxB commented on 2014-09-20 19:26 (UTC)

@wenLiangcan: Oh, I forgot to change that after changing the name of the directory to lowercase letters. Thanks. I really wonder though why starting Terasology via the desktop file worked for me even though this problem exists since my PKGBUILD for version 38.

wenLiangcan commented on 2014-09-20 11:19 (UTC)

Within the launch script /usr/bin/terasology, "Terasology" should be "terasology".

FSMaxB commented on 2014-08-12 08:08 (UTC)

Package is now installed to "/usr/share", I've been convinced to do so.

xordspar0 commented on 2014-02-19 23:07 (UTC)

Arch doesn't really seem to use /usr/share/games. Should this just install to /usr/share instead?

FSMaxB commented on 2013-12-15 10:46 (UTC)

I restructured the PKGBUILD in two ways: 1. The download link is now permanent to the respective build number. This way im also able to provide md5sums and let makepkg handle the Download. The Version number now reflects the build number. 2. Terasology is no longer installed to /usr/local/games/ but to /usr/share/games . NOTE: If you use AURA or similiar AUR-Helpers to install this package, you may have to manually tell it to update the package, because of the change in the version number.

FSMaxB commented on 2013-12-11 17:46 (UTC)

Works fine for me. Try or for help.

luuuciano commented on 2013-12-11 16:54 (UTC)

I have installed terasology for my daughter (a fan of minecraft like games...)... But terasology fails when it is caching the world, shows an error and shutdowns (after I hit escape)... Any idea? it works ok on your systems?

FSMaxB commented on 2013-06-13 21:54 (UTC)

Thanks, I fixed the desktop file. As to the permissions: I haven't encountered any problems, but spambanane said something about it. It isn't playable for me neither, but I think it's an upstream bug as it was working before I bought a nvidia graphics card and the newest development build works for me (see package terasology-devbuild).

MaartenBaert commented on 2013-06-13 14:46 (UTC)

There's a syntax error in the desktop file: GenericName Terasology should be: GenericName=Terasology I also get permissions problems, it fails to save the config file and is unplayable.

FSMaxB commented on 2013-03-17 10:33 (UTC) is now downloaded by wget, not automatically by makepkg. This way there is no error preventing installation because of wrong checksum when a new version of terasology is available. To ensure, that tools like aura automatically update terasology, I'll increase pkgref everytime a new version of terasology is available.

FSMaxB commented on 2013-03-16 10:37 (UTC)

I don't know what happened to your system, maybe you changed the umask or something, because on my system the executables and directories in /opt/Terasology have the permissions 755 and other files have 744. Maybe you meant 754, but I don't see any reason to do that.

commented on 2013-03-16 10:23 (UTC)

thanks for taking over this package. i suggest to change the owner of /opt/Terasology/ to root:games, so you can set the permissions to 755 instead of 777.

FSMaxB commented on 2013-03-15 17:27 (UTC)

I will now try to take care of this package.

commented on 2012-12-09 20:49 (UTC)

Disowning now, since i don't use Arch anymore. It was fun to mess around with this scripts. :D Hopefully somebody else will have fun with it too.

commented on 2012-09-07 12:55 (UTC)

Killed some bugs in my install script.

commented on 2012-09-06 10:16 (UTC)

Ok, just asked in terasology forums. They recommend to use the zip file, since it contains informations about version and so on. The devs will use this informations in development in the near future.

Svenstaro commented on 2012-09-05 18:10 (UTC)

In that case, a -git package would be a lot more appropriate than this.

commented on 2012-09-05 17:59 (UTC)

Because terasology updates nearly every day. I would have to change the checksums every day, because the name of their zip file stays the same. It is still in alpha state. Devs said, maybe there will be some kind of launcher in future.

Svenstaro commented on 2012-09-04 23:06 (UTC)

I don't think you are packaging this correctly. Why do you require the manual installation *after* package installation? This is the purpose of this package! Just package it as a system package.

commented on 2012-08-09 19:52 (UTC)

Updated now and changed many things: This PKGBUILD doesn't download terasology directly. You will have to use terasology_install in console to download and unzip the actual game. Same thing to update the game. This means, that this package won't be out of date anymore. If you get errors, pls report it here. :) Also i changed pkgver to stable, because it's the lates stable build of Terasology. If you have terasology already installed, please do a pacman -R terasology. Just to clear everything up. Hopefully it works. Have fun

commented on 2012-07-28 09:00 (UTC)

Updated.. should work again. ;)

Gronkh, a german lp god, made a let's show of terasology. At the moment it's nearly impossible to download it. Just be patient. :)

commented on 2012-07-07 14:33 (UTC)

Terasology is a game inspired by minecraft. It doesn't only try to clone it. The developers try to combine it with the feel of dwarf fortress and dungeon keeper. Also they try to give it more depth and stunning graphics. It's still in development, so it could crash sometimes or always. ;) If there's a bug, pls report it there: If you have suggestions or found an error in my PKGBUILD, then report it here. :D Have fun!
