Please note that these fonts are not perfect (the outlines are not very good); use the font files provided by the terminus-font package instead when possible, their quality should be much better. These TTF files are mainly intended for use by Java applications which do not support fontconfig, like Netbeans -- the subpar outlines are not a problem in those applications because Java uses the (good) bitmaps anyway.

This package contains (automatically generated and scalable) TTF versions of Terminus Font; the package in [community] contains the original (and official) bitmap fonts. If in doubt, use the [community] package as the TTF versions are of lower quality -- they are intended mainly for Java applications which cannot use bitmap fonts.

What's the difference between this package and https://www.archlinux.org/packages/community/any/terminus-font/?

Hi, I've just noticed terminus 4.36 is out since 2011-07-23.

You're right; done in 4.34-2. As COPYING rarely changes, its filename still doesn't contain a version number. Thanks for the hint.

I try again with removed old one sources *.ttf, which is keeped on my host in SRCPKGDEST dir (/etc/makepkg.conf) and it's succeeded, so I think that the problem occured because pacman thinks that this sources already download and try to check their md5sums, which is bad because old one from previous version is different. May be it's not good to have this *.ttf files without version info?

Works for me: [Downloading files] ==> Validating source files with md5sums... TerminusBold.ttf ... Passed TerminusMedium.ttf ... Passed TerminusMediumItalic.ttf ... Passed COPYING ... Passed
