Adjusted source url to the github repo.

haawda commented on 2018-03-07 19:26

Thanks for pointing that out. Unfortunately github seems to be down, so I cannot check.

ixjlyons commented on 2018-03-06 18:44

It appears the project (or the active fork) was moved from Bitbucket to GitHub in January 2018. It would be great to have the source URL updated (and note the bump to 0.7.1):

pygtk seems to be a dependency of this package as well.

folberjm commented on 2017-10-22 15:19

I had this textext installed with `pstoedit`, but there appears to be a bug in how `pstoedit` calls Ghostscript. The -dDELAYBIND flag has been deprecated.

Installing `pdf2svg` allows textext to work around this issue by not using the `pstoedit` backend.

This seems to depend on python2-lxml.

haawda commented on 2016-11-03 22:32

I made a PKGBUILD for that fork.

balwierz commented on 2016-10-31 19:34

There seems to be an actively developed fork on bitbucket:

haawda commented on 2016-10-04 20:22

fixed URL, thanks.

The link returns "404 Not Found", you can chage it for:

Sorry about the delay, I did not receive notifications for some reason...

haawda commented on 2015-03-10 12:44

I do not maintain this anymore, please change the maintainer comment in the PKGBUILD.

muralisc commented on 2015-03-10 11:44

The PKGBUILD doesnt seem to be working ( Missing package() )
Here is the modified one i used :
added "pstoedit" as dependancy
Removed Licence.txt and its md5sum
changed build() to package()
# Contributor: Joel Schaerer <>
# Maintainer: Stefan Husmann <>
pkgdesc="An inkscape extension which lets you add LaTeX equations to your drawings"
arch=('i686' 'x86_64')
depends=('inkscape' 'texlive-core' 'python2-lxml' 'pdf2svg' 'pstoedit')
package() {
cd "$srcdir"
install -Dm 644 LICENSE.txt \
install -Dm 755 \
install -Dm 644 textext.inx \

like many other AUR packages =P

It was not disowned by accident. Feel free to take it.

Tybo commented on 2012-05-04 11:01

(Or if it was disowned by accident...)

Tybo commented on 2012-05-04 10:56

I would like to adopt it, if it is ok.

(I am ready to disown it if someone else claims it)

haawda commented on 2012-04-05 17:15

Done, thank you.

Please change python-lxml to python2-lxml in the dependencies

iosonofabio commented on 2010-08-17 08:13

Please add pstoedit to the dependencies... it can't work without. Moreover, the script is giving errors at present, and no output is produced.

adopted, changed URL

joelsc commented on 2010-08-06 06:54

I abandoned the package, why don't you adopt it?

AsmundEr commented on 2010-08-05 22:19

New PKGBUILD can be found here:

Someone who knows how can replace the above PKGBUILD with this one. All I did was replace the URL with the working one mentioned below.

joelsc commented on 2010-06-08 07:35

Is someone willing to adopt this package?

Anonymous comment on 2010-06-07 20:25

The PKGBUILD needs to download its file from

Yeah the website is out of commission. Luckily it seems to just have moved to
